Beach Bay Group is a well-established, rapidly growing construction company based in Canterbury and is looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a range of residential construction and landscaping projects.

About the role

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with a passion for residential construction projects?

Join our thriving residential construction company in picturesque Canterbury, NZ, and take charge of projects from cost estimation to successful completion.


Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently quote costs for various aspects of residential projects, including foundations, new homes, driveways, and landscaping.

  • Seamlessly transition from cost estimation to project management, overseeing budgets, timelines, and resources.

  • Collaborate with construction managers, architects, and contractors to ensure precise cost estimations and clear communication between architects, contractors, and project stakeholders.

  • Utilize your project management skills to manage schedules, allocate resources, and maintain quality standards.

  • Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate progress, material usage, and project deviations.

  • Monitor project budgets, identifying potential cost overruns and suggesting cost-effective solutions.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports on cost breakdowns, project financials, and performance metrics.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a background in project management for residential construction.

  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations.

  • Proficiency in cost-estimating software and tools (Ideally with Buildertrend) and project management software.

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to oversee projects effectively.

  • Strong communication skills to foster collaboration and provide project updates to stakeholders.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant regulations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
